image source, Getty ImagesAt 03:00 GMT, Copacabana Beach in Rio, Brazil is filled with people celebrating the New Year. And aerial photos of this famous beach show that there are already a lot of people there.
This famous celebration, known locally as the Réveillon Party, is one of the largest celebrations in the world.
But before organized chaos ensues, there is much to prepare, including loading enough fireworks onto a barge to celebrate the occasion in style.
Attendees can expect spectacular views from several boats loaded with fireworks, as well as performances from big-name stars like Brazilian singer Anitta.
A beach vendor told Reuters that sales were already “very strong.”
He said, “It’s still early, but we’re expecting 2 million people to come today. We’re in this together! Happy New Year everyone.”
And Copacabana Palace Hotel plans to open and bring in more than 1,000 bottles of champagne by 2025. I think I’m going to have a headache from a lot of things tomorrow.
