Zimmer’s Honor Flight Radiothon raises $32,296
Hosted by several Zimmer Midwest Communications Radio Stations, Radiothon on March 14th raised $32,296 for the Ozark Honorary Airmail, beyond what the event raised in 2024.
The 12-hour radioton was the fourth event hosted by Zimmer, with radio stations 98.7 The Dove, 101.3 Real Country, 93.3 and AM 560 KWTO, and 96.9 ESPN jocking.
Ozarks Committee Chairman Zachary McFarland’s Honorary Flight said additional funds would be welcomed as the cost of flying veterans to visit the War Memorial in Washington, D.C. “continue to increase each flight season.”
The first flight of three honorary tickets for the Ozarks trip is planned for May 28th. Veterans who served during the Second World War, South Korea, the Vietnamese period and the Gulf War reside in southwestern Missouri or northwestern Arkansas and are eligible for honorable discharge. Branson Schools launches a bilingual literacy project
The Branson School District has launched Bridging World: Bilingual Literacy Adventure, a project aimed at overcoming language barriers while celebrating the diverse cultural backgrounds of students in the districts that speak a total of 31 languages.
The project receives a $15,000 grant from the Silver Dollar City Foundation, includes a monthly bilingual program at Ozarks’ Library Center, introduces dual language books at schools, provides language-specific materials for classrooms, and culminates in a multicultural event on April 4th.
In February, the district began talking Spanish monthly at the Library Center in the Ozark. On April 4th, the district will host the Branson High School festival from 5 to 8pm, with bounce houses, food vendors, dancers and families having the opportunity to showcase their culture and its culture. The event is open to the public for free.
Sport clips open new locations in the Republic

Gerke joins the central bank as Senior VP
The central bank has announced that regional lending manager Eric Gerke will be added to the commercial lending team.
With 20 years of banking, Gerke joins the team and offers additional leadership and oversight for commercial lending efforts. As Senior Vice President, he will ensure the growth and sustainability of commercial lending activities, establish team goals and strategies that affect both short- and long-term goals, and play a key role in managing teams of lenders and personal loan portfolios in more complex commercial loan relationships.
Gerke holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Missouri State University and has worked on a variety of boards, including Casa, Habitat for Humanity and Westside Optimist Club. For the past three years, Gerke has served as a city council member in the city of Republic and is the current mayoral organization.
Hearn joins Central Trust Company
Central Trust Company, a division of Central Trust Bank, has announced that it will hire Ryan Hearn as relations manager at the Central Trust location in Springfield.
A certified financial planner and chartered financial consultant, Hurn has over four years of experience as a financial advisor and enrollment officer. He specializes in customized financial planning and investment strategies.
A graduate of the University of North Texas, he is an active member of the Rotary Club, a leadership in Springfield’s Signature Class 48, conducting financial literacy seminars and was recognized as the 2024 Springfield Business Journal of the Year. Out of the Christian County Food Pantry at least of these leaders
Of these, Inc., a food pantry serving Christian County, has announced the resignation of executive director Christy Carter, who has led the organization for the past decade. Under her leadership, the Food Pantry expanded its reach, strengthened its community partnerships, and provided essential food aid to countless individuals and families across Christian County.
“We are deeply grateful for Christie’s dedication to the people of Christian County and her commitment to making sure no one in our community gets hungry,” said Mike Osborn, past director of the board of directors. “Her leadership has had a lasting impact, and while we miss her guidance, we are excited to build on the strong foundations currently in place.”
