Netflix has found a new leader for its North American advertising business.
The streaming giant has hired Nicole Pangis as vice president of advertising, overseeing sales in the U.S. and Canada. Pangis most recently served as CEO of progressive advertising company Ampersand, where he built the company into a power player in addressable TV.
She will report to Amy Reinhardt, Netflix’s president of advertising, who has been building Netflix’s advertising business since taking over the company’s advertising division a year ago. Peter Naylor, who previously served as vice president of advertising, left the streamer earlier this year.
“We are very excited to have Nicole join Netflix,” said Reinhardt. “She has a strong reputation within the industry for both the depth of her relationships with clients and partners and her data-driven approach to streaming advertising. We will continue to build and expand our advertising business.”
“We’re excited to join Netflix and support their mission to entertain the world,” Pangis added. “Given our incredible fan base for movies and TV shows, Netflix is perfectly positioned to put our brands at the center of the cultural zeitgeist. It’s going to be a great experience and I can’t wait to get started.”
