The unofficial start of the NCAA Tournament took place on Tuesday night in Dayton, Ohio, and March Madness’s opening game was not disappointing.
Alabama defeated St. Francis in a 16th species collision with essentially a hail Mary. Amarr Knox scored a full court pass after it was turned over and won the game with one second remaining in a 70-68 victory by the Hornets.
According to AL.com, Alabama coach Tony Madlock said: “You have to get a bucket or stop… You’re talking about survival and moving forward.”

This was the thrilling end of a round-trip contest between two small conference teams, leading the NCAA tournament to a dramatic start.
The same cannot be said about the night cap between North Carolina and San Diego’s No. 11 seed. The Tar Heels destroyed the 95-68 Aztecs in the game that ended by halftime.
Tar Heel was extremely malicious in his Sunday choice after receiving the final bid for the tournament despite his inactive resume, including a 1-12 record vs. Quad 1. But they left no doubt as to which team would deserve more in the 64 round in a blown victory over the Aztecs.
The first four will resume on Wednesday, with 16th place St. Mary’s vs. 16th America and Xavier vs. 11th Texas.
