State University of New York Brockport women’s soccer standout Jayla Cossin has been named a 2024 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women’s Scholar All-American Third Team selection, as announced by the Coaches Association last Thursday.
Cossin, a Silver Creek native, is majoring in social work and has a 3.55 grade point average in the classroom. Ms. Cossin added Scholar All-American to her impressive list of accomplishments after being named the program’s first USC First Team All-American earlier this month.
In 2024, she led the Golden Eagles with 11 goals (1st in the conference), 8 assists (4th in the conference), 30 points (1st in the conference), 64 shots on goal, and 40 shots on target (2nd in conference). Recorded. average 3.56/game conference).
Cossin was instrumental in helping the team qualify for the NCAA Tournament, the second NCAA appearance in program history. Collin, who totaled 29 points (11 goals, 7 assists) in 2023, had 22 goals, 15 assists, and 59 points in two seasons at Brockport. She is tied for 13th all-time in career points, 13th all-time in goals, and 10th all-time in assists.
Over the past few seasons, Cossin has been a first-team All-Conference player in the North Atlantic Conference (2022, Cazenovia), second-team All-Conference in the New York State University Athletic Conference (2023, Brockport), and a first-team All-Conference player in the New York State University Athletic Conference (2023, Brockport). – Earned first team honors in the conference. Brockport also set a new record for most shots in a season (419), marking the fifth time in program history that the team has reached 15 wins.
