Mukwonago, Wis. — Vito Schwartz, Mukwonago school board member and co-owner of Semper Fi Roofing & Exteriors, passed away Friday night.
Schwartz served on the school board for four years and was a Marine Corps veteran, according to a statement from the Mukwonago Area School District.
Others who shared the board with Mr. Schwartz said he always stood for what was right.
“There were situations where the kids weren’t involved, but he fought to get them involved. That’s the kind of person he is. He loves people,” said former Mukwonago school board member Erica Connor. said.
“Vito has been a vocal advocate for our district,” added MASD Superintendent Dr. Joe Koch in a statement. “He will be greatly missed. We have a strong community and we look forward to working through Vito’s loss together.”
TMJ4 spoke with Schwartz’s family on Saturday and they said they were heartbroken, adding that Schwartz was an honorable man who loved his family above all else.
“It’s so hard to convey because his heart was so big. People who don’t know his heart need to know how big it was. As far as the community goes, he’s family,” Connor said. spoke.
Schwartz was active in his community as co-owner of Semper Fi Roofing & Exteriors, a Marine Corps veteran, and a father.
TMJ4 contacted Mukwonago Police for more information on Schwartz’s death and was told an investigation was underway. However, authorities have not officially linked Schwartz’s death to the information provided in the announcement.
According to the release, officers were dispatched to a home near County Road EE after receiving a report of two people deceased. Upon arrival, they found two 45-year-olds suffering from fatal small-caliber gunshot wounds.
The circumstances behind the death have not been made public.
Police say there is no sign that the home was broken into and they are not searching for a suspect. The investigation is ongoing, but police have not released the names of the deceased.
