More than 50% of Vice President Kamala Harris’ voters say they want to move after Trump wins the 2024 presidential election, according to a study commissioned by StorageUnits.com.
On Nov. 6, Storage Unit surveyed 1,837 Harris voters to find out how many want to move, how many actually plan to move, and how many of them are concerned about Trump. We looked into the biggest concerns of those who voted no.
Of those surveyed, 44% said they would like to move, but probably not, 5% said they would definitely move, and a further 5% said they probably would. Those who would like to move but are unlikely to do so cite personal economic circumstances, family and community ties as reasons for staying put.
Of the 10% who are planning or seriously considering moving, 90% are considering moving to another country, with Canada, the United Kingdom, and Mexico being the top choices. California, New York and Colorado were the top three choices for people considering moving to another state.

According to the survey, the top three reasons Harris voters want to move are fear of enacting federal anti-abortion laws, increasing racial inequality, and overturning progressive rights. He says it’s a concern.
Access to abortion at the federal level was one of the top issues of the Democratic Party’s election campaign, but the decision was left on hold after President Trump said he had no intention of enacting a federal ban on abortion. Other areas of greatest concern include reduced health care access, widening social inequality, lack of gun control, and weakening public education.
“Experiencing fear, anxiety, and concern following the election results, some Harris voters may choose to move from red states to LGBTQ+-friendly states or blue states with less restrictive abortion restrictions. Among all generations surveyed, Gen Z is more likely to say that Harris voters will definitely or probably will move compared to Millennials, Gen X, and Baby Boomers. It was the most common (nearly 20%).
Furthermore, among Generation Z participants, the lowest number of respondents answered that they were not interested in immigrating, at approximately 30%.
