Misericordia University holds a sports management symposium
Dallas, Pa. – In February, Misericordia University held a sports management symposium focusing on “new trends in professional sports and university track and field.”
The event brought together industry experts to discuss the rapid changes in the sports industry, highlighting the turbulence and innovations in technology, legal aspects, and social media that impact sports management today.
Two main panel discussions were held at the symposium. The university’s athletics panel included Jeffrevine, University of Pennsylvania athletics director. Christopher Broly, associate at Troutman Pepper. Mike Trudonak, athletic director at Temple University. Joseph Julio, Compliance Director at Villanova University.
The professional sports panel featured David Gargone, director of sports management programs at Misericordia University at Mario Oliverli, director of season ticket sales and services for the New York Yankees. Chris Shipski, director of the Philadelphia 76ers corporate partnership. Alyssaleband ski, manager of Partnership Activation for the Philadelphia Eagles.
The event also includes a renowned speaker series featuring Sandra Douglas Morgan, president of the Las Vegas Raiders, who shared insights from her extensive experience in the sports industry.
