Breaking: Pete Alonso is back with the Mets. $54 million, 2-year, $10 million signature bonus
The Mets are headlined by Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto and Alonso, with Star Potential at the top of the order.
And the rest of the potential batting lineup is also not tattered:

Pete Alonso’s two-year, $54 million contract to return to #Mets includes $30 million ($10 million signature bonus) in 2025 plus $24 million player options for 2026. Masu.
A $27 million APY salary increases Mets’ forecast first-day tax salary to $322.5 million, second only to #Dodgers ($382 million)
The luxury tax bill is projected to be $62.5 million per Spotrac, which is still different from the Dodgers’ $128.3 million.
New York saw largely cut pay cuts ahead of the 2024 season, and it seemed the team was ready for a soft rebuild. However, the Mets have surpassed expectations and reached the NLC, and the team has not wasted time splashing key cash to bring their competitors together ahead of the 2025 campaign.
In addition to the record-setting Soto deal, the team signed AJ Minter, Clay Holmes, Frankie Montas, and Sean Manair, Linstanek and Jesse Turnooker. The Mets are busy and Alonso’s Return is extremely popular in Queens.
