U.S. News & World Report ranks Maui as the third best place to visit in the United States.
Maui is the first Glacier National Park in Montana and Yellowstone National Park, which is located in the northwestern corner of Wyoming and straddles Montana and Idaho.
US News reports that Maui has “famous beaches, spectacular golf courses, romantic sunsets, and many of the attributes visitors expect from the Aloha State.”
The report could boost visitor arrivals to Maui, where tourism has lagged in both arrivals and hotel occupancy since the August 2023 wildfires.
“As the travel industry continues its robust recovery, travelers are increasingly drawn to unique landscapes and jaw-dropping views, favoring destinations like Machu Picchu, Tanzania and Mt. Fuji,” the magazine’s Senior Travel said Editor-in-Chief Elisabeth von Telsch. The ranking follows a comprehensive and transparent methodology that considers traveler opinions as voted by users and combines analysis from experts and editors. Each holiday destination is scored in 10 categories, from attractions, culture and food to nightlife, adventure and romance, providing a complete rating for each destination.
