This comes just days after 10 people were injured in a shooting outside a nightclub that was holding a memorial for a previously murdered teenager in New York City on Wednesday night.
Police said three or four men fired about 30 shots into a crowd of people standing outside Amazura Concert Hall in Jamaica, Queens, for a private event, then ran to a car and drove away.
Six women and four men, aged between 16 and 20, were taken to hospital and are expected to recover, police said.
