Marriott International is expanding its presence in the luxurious safari spaces with two new Kenyan properties, at the Ritz-Carlton Masai Mara Safari Camp and the JW Marriott Mount Kenya Sailino Reserve Safari Camp.
Ritz-Carlton property, set to open this August, marks the brand’s foray into the luxury safari camp segment. The camp is located within the Masai Mara National Reserve, located on the island of the Sand River.
According to the Marriott, the Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp will be designed as an elevated train of the TreeTop Retreat, which promises the main views of the annual Great Relocation.
The camp offers 20 tent suites with private plunge pools, separate living areas and indoor and outdoor showers. It will also be home to facilities like a wine cellar, a stargazing sky deck, traditional boma, a restaurant with a spa and wellness centre, a swimming pool and a photography studio.
Guests will also have access to curated game drives and cultural experiences.

Meanwhile, the JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp is scheduled to open early next year.
JW Marriott Camp is located between Mount Kenya and the Abadare Mountains within Kenya’s Soliogame Reserve. The property has 20 tented accommodations, including two 2 bedroom suites.
Other highlights include multiple wellness facilities. Four dining concepts including a Skydeck restaurant. JW’s spa. Swimming pool; fitness centre. And a conservation house. Guests can also choose to choose experiences such as horse riding safari, night game drives, guided walks, quad cycling, or visiting private rhino orphanages.
JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp marks the second most luxurious safari offering in the JW Marriott portfolio following the debut of Marriott’s first luxurious safari property, the JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge in Kenya in 2023.
