Seattle – Seattle Mariners and Root Sports currently offer direct consumer streaming for market audiences with a subscription of $19.99 per month.
The deal does not include a blackout, and the Route Sports Stream app requires a cable subscription, with the Mariners and Route announced on Friday.
Viewers including Root Sports are included in your cable subscription. You can sign in to the app without any additional costs, the company said.
The Mariners are the latest MLB team to unveil consumer streaming options using local sports networks.
“We know that fans are enthusiastically anticipating the Mariners’ first day and are excited to offer another way to access Root Sports,” said Root Sports’ vice president of affiliate marketing and RSN operations. “Root Sports Stream includes a refresh interface that appeals to both new features and existing TV users.
