Get angry…
On Friday, we will be shining the spotlight on men and women who provide cold things and conversations at the neck of the forest. Please email ltaylor@news-gazette.com to let us know about your favorite Bartender.
Bartender, cook and assistant manager Matthew Perry does it all in the Lincoln Street Lounge.
The bar and restaurant hidden at the southern tip of Champaign County in the small town of Broadlands is known for having great fried chicken, but Perry said people should be involved with a variety of menu options and great bartenders.
He has been in business for over 20 years after a previously closed trucking company.
For the past 15 years that year, he has served drinks and other items on Lincoln Street.
Perry’s favorite thing as a bartender is to “meet new people from all,” and his favorite drink serve is Draft’s Riggs.
“The (Rigs) family has been part of our community for many years,” he said.
It’s a long way, so mark the calendar for the annual Christmas party on Lincoln Street.
“We include our customers, and that’s always memorable,” he said.
