1
Start with 4 boxes of candies and use a hot glue gun to glue the corners together. These form the base or vase of candy bouquets.
2
Cut the floral bubbles and become slightly smaller than the space inside the candy vase. Place the foam in the middle of two tissue paper and press the paper into a candy vase with the paper sticking out.
3
Glue the wood skewers to the back of each of the small, small packages of candy. Use two skewers for large candy.
4
Using a small square of tissue paper, stick out the skewers through the tissue paper and twist the paper into the edges of the candy to make it look like a flower.
5
Place the candy by pasting the skewers on the form. Use scissors to reduce the skewers as needed to arrange different heights. Decorate foil balloons and ribbons on the sides if necessary.
Additional tips for making a DIY candy bouquet:
The foamy foam fits perfectly inside the candy “vapor” so there was no need to add a bottom, but you can always hot and glue the scrapped board if necessary. You can use clear packing tape instead of hot adhesive to secure the candy onto the wood skewer. If candies aren’t suitable or desirable, consider other snacks like nuts, dried fruits, trail mixes, protein bars and more!
I love this Valentine’s Day bouquet!
This was a collection of explosions and I couldn’t wait to give this to my husband. His favorite candy was chocolate covered cherries and he was excited about this as he found some inside the store that year! What a fun and easy project. I highly recommend making it!
Also, if you can’t find the Queen Anne chocolate covered cherry I used, you can make this gift using boxed candies or chocolates like Russell Stover.
