Lucho Acosta Saga makes a new turn

The ongoing saga regarding Lucho Acosta’s desire to leave FC Cincinnati has grabbed all the headlines in the final weeks of the MLS offseason.
The superstar attacker last week interviewed local media outlets and criticised club executives in refusing to report pre-season training.
“If my move from FC Cincinnati occurs, it’s all because of General Manager Chris Albright,” Acosta said.
“My frustration after the last game of the season was all due to issues with Chris, which evolved to the point that the locker room was too small for the two of us.”
However, after a recent report suggested he was on his way to the Argentine costume Estidians, in South America, Foster Gillett, the ownership group behind the Estidians, was the one with other players. Orlando City “complete the deal” to sign Eduardo Atuesta from Palmeiras

Orlando City has “confirmed its contract” to sign Brazilian costume Palmeiras midfielder Eduard Atuesta, according to MLS insider Tom Bogert.
The Colombian spent last season lending at LAFC after a previous stint with the club and made a 31 MLS appearance in 2024.
Several MLS clubs reportedly were interested in the 27-year-old, but Orlando apparently won the race as he was trying to improve his final finish at the Eastern Conference last season.
Atoesta will join fellow Orlando, who will sign Marco Paschlich, which the club announced earlier this week.
MLS Team “About About” Udinese Forward Brenner

Several MLS clubs, including the Columbus crew, reportedly asked about Udinese forward Brenner this offseason.
The Brazilian has been with Italian clubs since signing crew rival FC Cincinnati in 2023.
However, these talks were said to be “exploratory” and did not advance past that stage.
Colora Rapids’ “Finalize Deal” signs Valencia midfielder

Colorado Rapids reportedly “confirmed” its contract to sign Valencia midfielder Ali Fadal.
The 21-year-old has appeared as a senior at the Spanish club since joining youth setup in 2023.
An early indication is that Fadal is considered a future in Colorado.
New York Red Bulls announces Marcelo Morales’ signature

Eastern Conference champion New York Red Bulls have completed the signature of Marcelo Morales, Chile International, at a private fee.
The fullback has the option to sign with the club until 2027 and appear in 110 specialists at the Chile Club before being extended until 2028.
“Marcelo is a high quality left fullback and left wing back that will be a great addition to our organization,” said sports director Julian de Guzman.
“He gives us a lot to our backline. We can’t wait for him to join us and start working with the coaching staff.”
Omar Gonzalez completes the Chicago fire movement

The Chicago Fire has completed a free signing of veteran defender Omar Gonzalez and announced the move Friday evening.
Former USMNT Stalwart has made just under 300 career appearances in the MLS, featuring four different teams, most recently FC Dallas.
“Omar brings not only his experience as a veteran defender, but his championship-winning mentality to the club,” said Greg Barhalter, director of football and head coach of Chicago Fire FC.
“After lifting multiple trophies and fighting at the biggest stage, Omar strengthens his backline and adds valuable competition and depth.”
