A luxury McLaren sports car collided with a sedan in Texas on Monday, smashing into a tree and breaking in two, killing the driver and passenger.
The incident happened just after 3 p.m. near the intersection of Abrams Road and Royal Lane in Dallas’ Lake Highlands neighborhood, Fox 4 News Dallas-Forth Worth reported, citing police.
The two people in the black car who died were Cristóbal Flores Espino, 29, and Robert Leroy Rocha, 31.

The woman driving the sedan, a gold Toyota, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, Fox 4 reported, citing police.
The cause of the initial collision between Toyota and McLaren is unknown, with the McLaren believed to be a 570S Coupe model, capable of reaching speeds of more than 200mph. The crash site is about 16 miles north of downtown Dallas.
Video and images from the harrowing scene showed the McLaren unusually split in two. The front end of the dismembered car was wrapped around a tree, and the back half was abandoned on the road about 30 feet away.

It appears that the Toyota also collided with a tree and its hood was also hit.
Police and investigators were collecting evidence at the scene. They say the investigation is ongoing.

The 570S Coupe model is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
They were designed and manufactured by British car manufacturer McLaren Automotive from 2015 to 2021.
