Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Lake Highlands.
DALLAS — Police have confirmed the deaths of two people in a car crash that split a McLaren sports car in two.
Police say around 3:10 p.m. Monday, officers were called to a crash in the 8500 block of Abrams Road in Lake Highlands.
According to DFR, the McLaren collided with a tree, killing the two people inside and breaking the car in two. DFR said a large-scale rescue operation was launched after first responders were unable to contact the two people who died after the crash.
The driver was later identified as Cristobal Flores Espino, 29, and the passenger was Robert Leroy Rocha, 31, according to Dallas police.
A passenger in the other vehicle was injured and taken to an undisclosed hospital, DFR said.
WFAA helicopter footage captured footage of a damaged luxury sports car, believed to be a McLaren 570S.
Authorities did not share information about what led to the accident or the condition of the other drivers involved.
