FBI asks for public assistance and victims or witnesses to come forward
Tal and Oren Alexander, prominent luxury real estate brokers, and their brother Aron Alexander, who runs the family’s security company, have been charged with sex trafficking, sex trafficking, and sex trafficking after more than a decade of charges. FBI Special Agent Justin Atwood testified Friday that about 40 women, most of whom did not know each other, came forward with similar statements. Atwood said graphic videos, photos and text messages exchanged between the brothers supported the allegations.
U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said, “As alleged in the indictment, over a period of more than 10 years, the Alexander brothers, alone and together, repeatedly engaged in violent sexual acts against dozens of female victims.” He repeatedly assaulted her and raped her.” The defendants are currently charged with multiple sex trafficking crimes. Four civil lawsuits have been filed against the brothers in New York, and a fifth lawsuit was filed on December 11th against Oren and Aron Alexander.
An FBI press release from New York states: “Prior to the incident, the Alexander brothers agreed to procure and supply drugs, including cocaine, mushrooms, and GHB, among other things, to the women during these events and trips. Judge Lisette Reed denied bail on Friday, saying Tal Alexander was a flight risk despite her family’s offer to post $115 million in real estate assets as collateral. Reed ruled that proposed conditions, including house arrest and GPS monitoring, were insufficient to ensure compliance.
Oren Alexander and Aron Alexander are scheduled to appear at a federal hearing in Miami next week. The two were initially given state bonds of $3 million and $2 million, respectively, but will remain in custody pending federal proceedings.
The Alexanders, co-founders of the luxury real estate firm Official and former Douglas Elliman stars, deny the charges. Their attorney, Joel Denaro, dismissed the claims as “baseless.”
Reports from childhood acquaintances and suspected video evidence have led to increased scrutiny. Atwood’s testimony includes details of text messages that prosecutors say show a pattern of behavior between the brothers.
