Thom Browne’s new Palm Beach Store is the 137th in the world and the second in Florida. The brand operated a seasonal location at Royal Pointa Ana Plaza last year.
The new Tom Brown Fashion Boutique at Royal Pointe Ana Playhouse in Palm Beach, which covers 1,500 square feet of space, presents a subtle version of the brand’s signature mid-century modern style.
Opening on March 1, the shop features windows covered in slat blinds made from wood, floor-to-ceiling silver travertine stone walls, wooden lattice ceiling lighting, shelving units from Maison Jansen and McCobb, and metal railings throughout the space.
The design reflects other Tom Brown boutiques around the world, but the Palm Beach Space is just one of two that features wooden slat blinds, said Jonathon Zadruzinski, director of global communications for the brand.
“Our store has begun to take a softer interpretation,” Zadrzynski told The Daily News. “It’s like wooden blinds instead of aluminum blinds, a monotone floor-to-ceiling tiny details. Even the finish is soft and light, but still rigged with space in such a medieval modern world, with Janssen’s Etagher and French, American and Japanese designers around the world.”
Thom Browne is a luxury fashion brand offering accessories, beauty, lifestyle and home items in addition to apparel for men, women and children, and is the first retailer to open in the historic playhouse, and is undergoing a major redevelopment.
Two other fashion boutiques – La Doublej and Loewe are scheduled to debut next month.
Palm Beach Store is the 137th world in the brand world, the second brand in Florida and the 137th world in the brand. The brand operates a boutique in the Miami Design area.
Before opening the Playhouse space, the brand operated a seasonal location at Royal Pointe Anna Plaza. The store debuted in November 2023 and closed last year.
“We started out with a pop-up and then expanded to this permanent location in the Playhouse,” Zadorzinski said. “It’s really exciting. We’re one of the first three shops together with Loewe and La doublej, so I’m very excited to be here. I’ve heard that’s the best place.”
Taking Tom Brown to Palm Beach was a logical move, Zadorzinski calls it a “natural progression” from the store’s Miami location. The 3,000-square-foot store opened in December 2018 at Northeast 40th St., the brand’s second-largest independent US location.
“We have customers who live in New York and come to Palm Beach,” Zadorzinski said. “So there are a lot of crossovers from other store locations around the world, and I think it was just a natural synergy that was immersed in this world.”
Palm Beach Store will showcase signature Tom Brown pieces such as tailored suits, oxford shirts, pleated skirts and hector bags, but also introduces several types, Zadorjinski said.
“Tom Brown has always been rooted in tailoring,” he said. “You can always see really great jackets, really great pants, but here you can mix them with different colorways, dresses, simpler, loose silhouettes just for the climate and customers. There are definitely special products.
Thom Browne is open daily in a new location last week, where last week welcomed officials from WS Development, developer of the Royal Pointe Ana Playhouse Project.
WS Development Chief Operating Officer Alexandra Clark noted that the Playhouse’s first new tenants need “11 years of work” to open the door. Once the island’s vibrant social hub, the building has been closed since 2004.
“The happiness, accomplishment and excitement for what comes in the reopened Playhouse building is unparalleled,” Clark told the Daily News. “But more than anything, we are excited to have fulfilled our commitment to this community. After decades of darkness, 2025 is the year of the Royal Poinciana Playhouse that has reopened.”
