Ferrari Roma falls: Luxury car falls down elevator shaft in Florida
Firefighters in Palm Beach, Florida were recently faced with the unusual task of retrieving a Ferrari Roma that had fallen down an elevator shaft. The unusual incident occurred at a luxury car dealership that was equipped with a specialized car elevator, not the type typically found in residential or office buildings. The faulty elevator transformed the dealership into the unexpected scene of a dramatic car recovery.

A 2023 Ferrari Roma, worth more than $243,000, found itself in a dangerous situation after the luxury car fell backwards into an elevator shaft. Luckily, the car’s turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 engine, known for its superior power, escaped major damage thanks to its position. However, the incident was complicated: firefighters encountered a fuel leak and had to use a portable standpipe to manage the spill and prevent a fire hazard. Cutting off power to the dealership was a precautionary measure to prevent a fire caused by sparks.
With the fuel situation under control, the team used a crane and chains to lift the Ferrari Roma from its unexpected grave. Although the rear of the vehicle sustained significant damage, it is unlikely to be scrapped. Instead, the Roma will be branded, which may indicate its unusual history, but it could still be attractive to enthusiasts and collectors who value that history.
