With the new year upon us, I would like to add a new best bite. Technically I went before the holidays, but this is the first column I’ve been able to post here. Ponto Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse (5107 82nd St., #109) opened on December 23rd. It just might be the best new restaurant of 2024.
Everything I had, from the garlic steak to the cinnamon pineapple, was well cooked and delicious. The server professionally explained the concept, what the items were about, and was helpful with questions. If you are planning a trip, I highly recommend either the garlic beef dish, cinnamon pineapple, or guarana soda. I’ve never been to a restaurant like this before, but I’ll definitely be back. Pro tip: Make a reservation and let them know if it’s your birthday.

Next week, I’ll be speaking to a group about post-wildfire tourism in Ruidoso, New Mexico, and a salsa company with ties to Lubbock. I’m sure there will be more interesting articles published in the future, so please look forward to it.
As always, thanks for reading and supporting AJ.
