The Taylorville boys and girls picked up a victory against the Pana Panthers in a basketball game on Saturday night. The girls won 75-24, while the boys won 55-42.
The Taylorville girl first got the action as the Blitz attack sent the Lady Tornado to a 9-0 lead. At the end of the first Taylorville, they lead 27-4. The Pana Panthers had no answer. Taylorville continued the onslaught, bringing a 45-12 lead to halftime. In the third and fourth quarters, Lady Tornado dominated 30-12 for a 75-24 victory.
Addison Tarr scored 21 points, while Kyleigh Heimsness dropped 19 to win the game’s Nicole Patrick Country Financial Player.
Between Taylorville and Pana girls and boys basketball games, Taylor Bill Tornadoes has made top 10 boys and girls point scorers as top 10 scorers in video homage to key scorers. He praised Jace Bergneider and Alison Curtin with a special homage.

The Taylorville and the Panasonic boys played a game that was much closer to the girls in the first quarter, with both teams trading punches, but Taylorville took an early lead of 14-9 at the beginning It’s going to pop out. Block Brown contributed six of these 14 points, causing Clark Durbin to throw a slam dunk to trigger a purple reign.
At halftime, the Tornado stuck to a 22-18 lead as the Pana Panthers scored eight points from Maddix Angel and Tyler Wrench. Taylorville’s Drake Howard led four scorers, but Taylorville had a quiet second quarter.
Coming out third, the Taylorville team began the game as Howard scored eight points, Brock Brown contributed six, and Taylorville took a 41-26 lead, Panna 19-8. Pana won’t be near again as Taylorville scored 55-42.
Drake Howard was named Nicole Patrick Country Financial Agent Player of the game, as he scored 19 points. Block Brown finished at 20.
Both teams will play on Tuesday, with the girls from Taylorville playing an important meeting game at Mount Zion, and the boys will play Mattoon.
