Reading paper newspapers is becoming a luxury.
I can sympathize with my fellow boomer letter writers who have reluctantly stopped subscribing to print cameras. With a recent series of eye-popping price increases, the luxury of physical paper is becoming increasingly unaffordable. Still, I want my subscription fees to continue to fund the outstanding work of hard-working local reporters like Amber Carlson and editor Gary Garrison. Because I want to read what’s going on in my community without staring at my computer or phone.
I dropped all extra issues and asked not to receive Sunday’s Denver Post for free (which seems like a not-so-subtle gesture to convince me to let go of my local paper). While I believe Prairie Mountain Publishing is committed to local journalism, I have no such illusions about its holding company, Alden Global Capital. The company’s goal of increasing shareholder returns is being achieved by cutting costs by reducing the number of journalists working on its many publications. newspaper.
Now that the weather is getting colder, I’m looking forward to the cozy ritual of coffee, paper, and a fire in the fireplace. Comforting rituals are an essential part of my mental health.

To be a great team, CU must become a better sport
Dear Coach Prime: Congratulations on yet another win in the 2024 season. This is a good team, but CU could be a great team by eliminating the thug balls, trash talk, cheap shots, show-offs, provocations, etc. Until those things are coached by the players and in the rearview mirror, the Buffs will continue to do so. It’s not a great team, but it’s a good team.

Thank you Colorado for staying blue.
Thank you, Colorado, for sticking to the blue line, and for being a little bluer. Colorado’s tendency to provide information to voters is a big reason for that. Thank you, Colorado, for invalidating all votes in the state for Donald Trump. Colorado had zero electoral votes. It was like it never existed. This is the third time Colorado has rejected this worthless scoundrel. I’m glad that my hometown shows so much honesty and civility. Thank you, Colorado. Thank you for enshrining in our state constitution a woman’s right to control her own body. The United States is not yet the Republic of Gilead.
Ben Franklin said: republic, If I can keep it that way. ” Republicans love to remind us that this is a republic, not a democracy. What Mr. Trump is proposing does not fit the definition of a republic. Ben would probably say, by We have already lost our republic when we elected Trump.
When Trump is shown to be incompetent, when the budget deficit is skyrocketing, when the economy is in the trash and Putin and the boys are stealing Trump’s lunch money, I’ll be happy to show you over and over again. I’m going to say that I said so.
When you vote for Trump, you are voting to make no changes to the Israel-Gaza war. Trump loves Benjamin Netanyahu. Your vote decided the fate of Ukraine. Trump loves Putin. Your vote for Trump jeopardized Taiwan and our access to Taiwan’s computer chips. President Trump believes that he has a “very strong relationship with President Xi.” Trump has no ability to negotiate with the mysterious Chinese. They’ll twist him into a pretzel.
Thomas Jefferson said, “The government you choose is the government you deserve.” I think the Republicans just elected the government they deserve, so why should the rest of us have to pay for their stupidity?
