President-elect Donald Trump announced via Truth Social on Friday that he is selecting Ed Russo to head the Environmental Advisory Council and Bill Briggs to be deputy administrator of the Small Business Administration.
Mr. Russo, who served as an environmental consultant for the Trump Organization for 17 years, said Mr. Trump “advised the administration on efforts to create great jobs and protect natural resources in line with my policy of clean air.” He will lead a new group called “Do.” And clean water. ”
“Together we will achieve American energy dominance, rebuild our economy, and drill, baby, drill,” Trump added on Truth Social.
Meanwhile, Briggs will work for former Georgia Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler, who was nominated by President Trump to head the SBA. He previously worked in the SBA’s Office of Capital Access during President Trump’s first term, where Trump said he helped oversee the Paycheck Protection Program during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trump said Briggs will work with Loeffler to “secure the American Dream for small businesses, the backbone of our economy.”
The Republican-controlled Senate must first confirm Briggs, and confirmation hearings for some of Trump’s nominees are scheduled to begin on Tuesday. Russo, on the other hand, will not be subject to a confirmation hearing.
