One day up, one day down from the World U20 Championships in Lima, Peru.
For the U.S. national team, there was a minor mistake, firstly, that resulted in the reigning U-20 champions not fielding a mixed relay team due to a clerical error: USATF released a statement saying that the team members had not been properly registered in the World U-20 System.
This cost the United States a medal in the 4×400, and ultimately no Americans won a medal on the first day of competition.
But there will be some consolation on the second day, with four more finals scheduled, including the women’s discus, women’s long jump and the men’s and women’s 100 metres. The women’s heptathlon also concludes on the final day.
We bring you the latest updates from the morning and afternoon sessions from the Videna Athletics Stadium in Peru.
