Nestle USA recalls certain batches of its lean dishes and Stouffer frozen meals that could be contaminated with “wood-like ingredients” after potential reports of suffocation.
The recall applies to limited amounts of meals with the highest dates from September 2025 to April 2026. They include butternut squash ravioli from the lean dish, spinach articho ravioli from the lean dish, lean dish, lemon ninrik ninrik shrimp stir-fried and stouffer-sized chicken rasaguna. The product was distributed to major US stores between September 2024 and this month. Products beyond those listed will not be affected.
Nestlé officials said they are working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Agriculture Agency to investigate the source of materials, such as wood. The company said it began a recall after the consumer reported an issue that included at least one asphyxiation incident.
Consumers should check the batch codes and best best dates in our recall list to identify affected products. The 10-digit batch code is printed on the side of the product packaging.
Do not prepare or consume the product. Instead, they will be returned to the store where they purchased it for exchange or refund. If you have any questions, please contact Nestle USA, Monday through Friday through Friday, 9am to 6pm, at 800-681-1676.
