Dallas – Luka Donsic was more than just a player for the Dallas Mavericks.
He captivated us all in front of us by his 19-year-old “Luka Magic,” and grew up to be a genuine global superstar and perennial MVP candidate.
Doncic has formed not only the DFW community but also close bonds with his teammates. The response from trade shows it in spades. And the latest to deal with trade was nothing more than Luka’s former backcourt mate, Kyrie Irving.
Irving and Donsic were very close.
Irving has always spoken Donsic with a bright light ever since he came to the Mavericks, calling him his brother many times. Their bond is a better display than running in the MAVS NBA Finals when Irving and Donsic fell on each other’s arms after a 6-game series of fierce battles with the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder It wouldn’t have been.
The duo also shared a warm embrace in the final of the Western Conference after Game 2 of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Kyrie Irving: “I miss Hermano”
Irving was the first to speak about Donz’s trade after the Mavericks lost 118-116 to the Philadelphia Six on Tuesday night.
“I’m just really shocked, um, you know you don’t imagine you’re ready to fall asleep, and you’ll find that kind of news,” Irving said. I said. “So, it’s still a sad process. (i) I miss my Hermano. We spent a lot of time together. You know (Markieff Morris)… Maxi (Kleber). Basketball court.”
Irving continues, and the NBA is business, the move “beyond his wage grade” and he is focused on welcoming his new teammates with open arms. He said he was eager to go back to Dallas and talk in front of Mavs fans.
“I know they feel that too – I feel that too, guys,” Irving said. “It’s just a period of adjustment. I don’t want to downplay this or downplay new people. They help us win the championship. Trade) from afar, it hurts.”
Dallas will return to the AAC against the Houston Rockets on Saturday.
