Global law firm K&L Gates LLP advised Lehigh Valley Health Network and Jefferson Health on the merger that will create a new $15 billion health system serving Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The merger marks a significant milestone in health care, combining the strengths and resources of both organizations to enhance patient care and expand services throughout the region.
The new health system will serve as a leading provider of comprehensive health care services with a focus on innovation, quality and accessibility. The combined organization will have a strong network of hospitals, outpatient facilities and specialty care centers, ensuring patients receive the highest level of medical care close to home. The combined health system will rank as the 15th largest not-for-profit hospital group in the United States by revenue.
Nashville partner Ken Marlow led the K&L Gates team for Lehigh Valley Health Network, with support from Pittsburgh partner Cordelia Glenn Grabiak, Nashville partners Wells Beckett and Kevin Page, Research Triangle Park partner Gabrielle Scott, and Nashville associates Rachel Harris and Alexandra Lin.
“The K&L Gates team is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent Lehigh Valley Health Network in this transformative transaction and see the benefits it will bring to the entire community,” said Marlow. “Our deep and broad knowledge across the K&L Gates platform and our extensive experience representing clients in significant health care consolidations in Pennsylvania and beyond allowed us to successfully represent Lehigh Valley Health Network in this transaction.”
