Charles III seems to have had a change of heart about quite a few things lately.
After years of strained relations with Prince Harry, King Charles reportedly wants to develop a deeper relationship with his two grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. He also pleasantly surprised the nation by ignoring royal protocol and greeting the New Zealand women’s rugby team with a huge group hug instead of the usual bows and bows. And now King Charles has officially broken his lifelong habit of skipping lunch.

He has always been a vocal advocate of a healthy diet that focuses on organic produce. Just before he assumed the throne in September 2022 after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, he emphasized the importance of organic farming. He farmed organically on his home farm near Highgrove Estate in Gloucestershire until 2020, in anticipation of further royal duties.
King Charles is also known for leading a disciplined lifestyle, once skipping lunch, something he described as a “luxury” given his hectic schedule.
Since then, at the urging of his medical team and his wife Queen Camilla, he has had to re-evaluate his stance on lunch. He now eats half an avocado during the day to keep up his strength.
“With some reluctance, he has something to eat at lunchtime, a snack. He now eats half an avocado to get him through the day, especially if he is sick. That’s important,” a source told the Daily Mail.
While some of us may not consider half an avocado to be a whole meal, it seems like a good thing he’s at least warmed up to the idea.
