Karma Automotive is launching a luxurious two-door extension electric vehicle (EREV). Called Amaris, it is based on the universe frame of all aluminum. The body is made of aluminum and carbon fiber.
This is Karma Amaris, a two-door luxury sports car manufactured by California-based Karma Automotive. It is a small company that picked up the work after Fisker’s first bankruptcy and continued to build improved versions of the Karma 4-door plug-in hybrid sedan.
Return to Amaris. It’s pretty beautiful, with wide thighs and a “swan door” that you’ll probably swing upwards and get in and out as easily as possible. The design clues are heavily influenced by the evolution of its four-door brother, Libilo itself, which is the original Fisker Karma.
It rides on 22-inch forged aluminum wheels with a clean-cut design that Karma calls “Constellation,” but the body is a combination of aluminum and carbon fiber. It also has a clamshell hood in the front and a pass-through spoiler at the rear to reduce drag and increase downforce.
Under the skin, Amaris is based on the evolution of the entire aluminum cosmic frame that traces its roots to Libilo. This allows a small California company to speed up development and arrive in the market faster than if they had to do the chassis from scratch.
But it is its powertrain that sets Karma’s new coupe apart from the crowd. The specs are still wrapped, but Amaris knows it will be an extended range electric vehicle (EREV) that uses a BMW source four-cylinder gas engine and generator. There’s a battery somewhere there and an electric motor that powers the wheels, but details of these have yet to be revealed. The new gas engine is a step up from the 3-cylinder 1.5-liter unit currently used by Karma.
This is the same setup as the RAM 1500 Ramcharger and upcoming Scout SUVs and pickups. The gas engine does not power the wheels, simply turn the generator that sends juice to the battery pack. The electric motor then acquires power from the battery to propel the car.

Karma Automotive said Amaris can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 165 mph. This is one-seventh of the second of the yet-to-released estimate of the Gysera Electric Sedan, and two seconds faster than the Revero Plug-In Hybrid.
Speaking of the two four-door models, Karma has confirmed that the Gysera shown last year will replace Revero. But there are a few things to do here. The Gyesera was supposed to be an all-electric sedan based on Revero, but now Karma said it will switch to the Erev powertrain “in response to changes in the short-term market demand for EVS.” As a reminder, Libya, which will soon be omitted from tracing its roots in the original Fiska Karma, will be replaced by Yasera, a revised version of Libiro.
Sales of the Karma Amaris Coupe are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, followed by Kaveya All-Electric’s “Super Keep” in 2027 and the Ivara Electric SUV in 2028.
