Franciscan Health Foundation receives grants
The Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust (IBCAT) has awarded a grant of more than $7,000 to the Franciscan Health Foundation for use in providing mammograms to low-income women in central Indiana.
Money is generated through the sale of Indiana breast cancer awareness license plates.
The Franciscan Health Foundation has received IBCAT funding for several years, with funds distributed to the Franciscan Health Indianapolis Breast Cancer Screening Program, among other programs within the organization.
Franciscan Health Indianapolis’ Breast Cancer Screening Program targets low-income women and provides equitable access to early breast cancer detection and intervention services. The purpose of this program is to overcome financial, logistical and information obstacles that could prevent these women from undergoing timely and appropriate screening.
Indiana residents can purchase Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Special Group Certified License Plates by visiting online at BMV License Branch or MyBMV.com. Of the $40 per year fee, $25 is a direct tax deductible donation to the extent of the law.
