After a win on the road in Week 1, the JMU football team (1-0) returns home to face its only FCS opponent in 2024. The Dukes host Gardner-Webb (0-1) on Saturday night for the home opener of the Bob Chesney era.
Gardner-Webb ended the week with a disappointing 21-20 loss to Wofford. The Runnin’ Bulldogs led 20-11 going into the fourth quarter, but a strong finish from Wofford meant Gardner-Webb suffered a narrow defeat.
JMU has been overwhelmingly favored against FCS rivals (although official betting lines are not yet available), and the Dukes have outscored their two FCS rivals a combined 101-10 since moving to the FBS.
