Miami Dolphins free safety Jevon Holland injured his knee in the second quarter of a Week 8 game against the Arizona Cardinals and was sent to a blue medical tent on the sideline.
Jevon Holland injury update
The Dolphins did not provide details about Holland’s injury, but determined that he is questionable to return. Holland was evaluated on the sideline and was seen relaxing on a stationary bike on the sideline before halftime.
How long will Jevon Holland be out?
Early indications suggest the injury is not too serious, as Holland did not go to the locker room and was preparing for a potential return to action.
However, Holland did not check in on the final drive of the second quarter against the Cardinals.
Dolphin safe depth chart
The Dolphins have a talented defensive back in Marcus Maye behind the starting duo of Jordan Poyer and Holland. Miami relied heavily on Maye’s contributions in the final two games since Holland was unavailable at safety after suffering a hand injury in Week 7.
Behind this veteran trio, the Dolphins also have special teamer Elijah Campbell and sixth-round rookie Patrick McMorris on the practice squad.
