Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has brought Jason Montague back to a leadership position within the company, this time with a new title of Chief Luxury Officer, leading NCLH’s luxury brands Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. supervise the development of
Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania, will continue in his post and report directly to Mr. Montague. Andrea DeMarco will step down as president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises on March 4 to pursue new opportunities.
Mr Montagu will step in from February 17 to oversee both Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises, which will build five new ships and replace nearly all of the brands’ existing vessels. The company plans to renovate the car and strengthen its position in the ultra-premium and luxury markets.
NCLH CEO Harry Sommer thanked DeMarco for more than a decade of service to NCLH and for building the foundation for Regent. She succeeded Montague as president of Regent on January 1, 2023. She later went public about her breast cancer diagnosis and used her platform to encourage women to get preventative testing.
Oceania plans to launch three new ships by 2029, including the Oceania Allura, scheduled to be launched in July. Meanwhile, Oceania Marina is scheduled to undergo a similar renovation in 2026 and Oceania Riviera in 2027.
Regent plans to build two new ships by 2029, refurbish the Seven Seas Mariner in 2025 and the Seven Seas Voyager in 2026.
Montagu has a long history with the luxury NCLH brand. He served as Regent’s CEO and president until 2022, when he stepped down and transitioned into the role of NCLH special advisor. Prior to leading Regent, Montague served as president and chief operating officer of both Oceania and Regent.
Montague previously served as CFO and executive vice president of Prestige Cruises International prior to NCLH’s acquisition of the company. At Prestige, he played a key role in launching Oceania Cruises, overseeing the purchase of the first R-class vessel, securing investment from Apollo Global Management, and the acquisition of Regent.
Mr. Montague also led the financing and delivery of Oceania Marina and Riviera, serving as vice president and treasurer and senior vice president of finance for the brand.
