Jared Lloyd
The Standard Examinor and the Daily Herald newspaper announced on March 31 that it would promote Jared Lloyd to the editors of both papers.
Lloyd has over 20 years of experience with the Daily Herald, and his most recent duties are reporting and editing sports since 2011.
“I look forward to having this opportunity,” Lloyd said. “I have been passionate about providing fair and objective reporting that we have been lacking in the national media these days. I am honored to work in the Ogden and Utah Valley communities. I look forward to seeing readers do their best to get local journalism.”
Lloyd began his career as a professional journalist in 2002 at Brigham Young University in a student sports reporting position. After graduating with a Bachelor of Communications degree in 2004, he began working at the Daily Herald as a news reporter. He moved to the sports division two months later, covering high school, college and professional sports for most of the past 20 years as an award-winning reporter, columnist and photographer.
Lloyd also has experience in business writing, educational reporting, news reporting, radio and television.
“Jared brings years of experience and a true commitment to community news to his new position,” said Jim Konig, publisher of the standard examiner and Daily Herald newspapers.
