CNN anchor Jake Tapper’s stunned reaction when told early Wednesday morning that Vice President Kamala Harris was unable to outperform President Biden’s 2020 performance in a single state. has become a hot topic.
Tapper asked CNN’s national correspondent John King to provide a chart showing states where Harris won at least 3 percentage points more votes than Biden in the last election. All they were presented with was a gray map reflecting their failures.
“Holy smokers!” Tapper gasped. “Literally nothing?”
“Literally nothing,” King admitted.
The slide was supposed to brighten up states where Harris leads Biden by more than 3 percentage points, but instead it was completely gray.
“Isn’t it literally one county?” Tapper asked again, still looking shocked after seeing the footage, which was viewed more than 5 million times in just one clip shared on X.
King later changed the map to show counties instead of states, noting that Harris had a narrow 3 percentage point lead over Biden in only 58 counties.
“It’s the same in the county, it’s the same in the 58 counties,” King said. “We showed that Donald Trump held more than 1,000 of the 4,600 counties and townships across America.”
He continued, “There may be more here on the West Coast, there may be one or two more by the time we finish counting here, but in key states — again, all the Trumps I mentioned earlier. In Pennsylvania, she leads President Biden by more than 3 percentage points. ”
Former President Donald Trump won the election early Wednesday, reversing his 2020 losses in key states of Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
