On Saturday night, Orlando Magic Guard Mac McClung became the first player in NBA history, winning the dunk contest for three times in a row. This is a feat that some of the league’s top dunkers failed to achieve.
Ahead of the trade deadline, the Sacramento Kings have won one of the greatest dunkers of all time, Zach Labine. The former Minnesota Timberwolves guard named himself in the dunk contest and won consecutively in 2015 and 2016, but chose not to go to 3 Pete.
During McClung’s performance on Saturday night, some of the league’s top stars were thinking of participating in the competition. Memphis Grizzlies Guard Ja Morant posted, “Mack might decide to dunk me.”
If you do that. I’ll do it with you đź’Żhttps://t.co/dskgltitca

The NBA dunk contest has caught Flak in recent years, especially as it has been overwhelming since the stars stopped the competition. If Morant and Antetokounmpo could bring back the contest, it would be incredible for fans. Because competition is simply not what it was before.
Morant also called out Zach Ravine and Aaron Gordon in the hopes of returning some of the league’s top dunkers to the contest and posting “Zack & AG Wasap.”

Reclaiming Lavine in the Dunk Contest will be a fun fan experience as he fought Gordon in perhaps the most iconic contest in 2016. Labine could still throw away the slam worthy of highlights in the dunk contest if he returned. The group of Lavine, Gordon, Morant and Antetokounmpo is exactly what fans have been looking for for years.
