Israeli military attacks have killed more than 200 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip over the past three days, and the military continues to attack residential buildings, streets, markets and people gathering in shelters.
Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud, reporting from Deir El Bala, said that although Israel claimed to be targeting Hamas fighters, most of the victims were innocent people.
“We are seeing that women and children make up the majority of victims,” he said.
Hospitals are overwhelmed by constant casualties, direct attacks on medical facilities, and severe shortages of supplies as Israel tightly sieges the territory.
At Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Bala, many of the injured died before receiving treatment.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 45,805 Palestinians and injured 109,064.
At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel in the Hamas-led attack that day, and around 250 were taken prisoner.
