“Among the dead were UNRWA shelter managers and team members assisting displaced people,” the refugee relief agency said in a statement on social media. “No one is safe in Gaza. No one can escape.”
The Hamas-run Health Ministry said on Tuesday that at least 19 people had been killed in a nighttime Israeli attack in a designated humanitarian area in southern Gaza.
Mourners in Turkey on Saturday were preparing for the funeral of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, a 26-year-old Turkish-American activist who the Israeli military said was likely shot and killed “indirectly and unintentionally” by Israeli forces in the West Bank on September 6.
Her family said they were “deeply outraged by any suggestion that her killing by a trained sniper was in any way unintentional” and called for a US investigation into her death.
Turkey has already said it will conduct its own investigation.
More than 40,000 people have died in Gaza during the war, according to health officials.
