The Iranian general has vowed to respond to any threat “decisively and destructively” after President Donald Trump said he ordered military action against Yemeni Houtis.
“General Hossein Salami, leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard, warns the enemy that, if Iran carries out a threat, Iran will respond decisively and destructively, following our strike against terrorist groups supported by Tehran over the weekend, according to Reuters.”
“We are not a country that lives in hiding. We are an effective and legal system in the world. We announce it when we attack anywhere,” Salami was quoted as saying by ABC News.
The US Central Command said on Saturday that it will “launch a series of precise strikes against Iran-backed Hooti targets across Yemen to defend American interests, block the enemy and restore freedom of navigation.”

Trump wrote on True Social Saturday that he “ordered the US troops to launch a decisive and powerful military action against Yemeni footy terrorists.”
“It’s been more than a year since US wrapped commercial vessels safely sailed through the Suez Canal, the Red Sea or the Gulf of Aden,” Trump continued. “The last American warship that had passed through the Red Sea four months ago was attacked by the Hoosis on dozens of occasions.”
“The relentless attacks cost the US and the global economy billions of dollars, and at the same time risked innocent lives,” Trump wrote.
“For all Houthi terrorists, your time has ended and your attacks must stop from today. If they don’t, hell will rain over you like something you’ve never seen before!” his post concluded.
The massive campaign against Yemeni Hooty’s targets will be “relentless” until Iran-backed proxies pledge to retreat US assets, Defense Secretary Pete Hegses told Fox News on Sunday.

“The moment Houthis says, ‘We’re going to stop filming on your boat, we’re going to stop filming on your drone,’ the campaign ends, but until then it’s going to be unforgiving,” he told “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo.
Houthis claims that the recent US strike has killed at least 53 people and injured around 100 people, according to the Associated Press.
“We stand up to escalation and escalation,” Houtis leader Abdul Malik al-Haucci said on Sunday.
“We respond by targeting American enemies by raids, attacks, missile attacks, and aircraft carriers, warships and ships,” added Al Hoti. “But we still have an escalation option. If we continue to aggression, we’ll move on to an additional escalation option.”
Fox News has been shooting down around 12 Houthi drones by US warships since Saturday.
