Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced plans to open more than 50 new luxury and lifestyle hotels worldwide by 2026. This ambitious growth strategy was unveiled at ILTM Cannes, the prestigious luxury travel trade show.
Demand for luxury travel is increasing significantly, with Europe’s luxury hotel inventory expected to increase by 52.8% by 2028. With 70% of its rooms classified as luxury and luxury, Hyatt is strategically positioned to take advantage of this opportunity. The company has added 28 luxury hotels and resorts in the past three years and doubled the number of luxury rooms since 2017.
The lifestyle hotel sector, characterized by experiential services, is also growing rapidly. Hyatt has increased its lifestyle rooms fivefold since 2017, establishing a strong presence in the sector. The company’s leadership in this sector was recently strengthened by its acquisition of the brands of lifestyle hospitality company Standard International. Hyatt also created a dedicated lifestyle group led by Amar Lalvani, former chairman of Standard International.
Upcoming openings include highly anticipated hotels such as Miraval The Red Sea, Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, Park Hyatt Johannesburg, Andaz Miami Beach and Andaz Gold Coast.
Hyatt’s growth strategy includes establishing a specific portfolio to maximize the potential of each brand. The luxury portfolio includes hotels with unparalleled service, amenities and design, including brands such as Park Hyatt, Alila and Miraval. The lifestyle portfolio offers original design, dining and cultural programs featuring brands such as Andaz, Thompson Hotels and the newly acquired Standard International brand.
Hyatt’s expansion will allow the company to maintain industry leadership by providing guests with an elevated, high-end experience. The company operates 256 luxury and lifestyle hotels and resorts in 45 countries.
