And at the late 2024 ILTM event in Cannes, France, the group detailed plans to open more than 50 luxury and lifestyle hotels over the next two years. This builds on the Group’s progress in 2024, when it opened 28 lifestyle hotels. The move into this sector is aimed at banking on growing demand from a new generation of young travelers who are looking for a different look and feel, especially when choosing where to book hotel accommodation.
Acquisition of lifestyle brands
In August 2024, Hyatt agreed to acquire Standard International, a group of hotel brands at the forefront of the lifestyle hotel sector. The acquisition created a group that operates hotels under brands such as Standard, Standard X, Bunkhouse, Peri and The Manor. With the acquisition, the group will establish a dedicated team to drive Hyatt’s lifestyle proposition, led by Amar Lalvani, former executive chairman of Standard International.
The Standard deal followed Hyatt’s acquisition of European lifestyle brand Me & All in June 2024. The acquisition builds on the existing strategic alliance with Germany’s Lindner Hotel Group, which was strengthened in 2022 and will see the migration of Lindner hotels to the Hyatt platform, significantly increasing Hyatt Group’s visibility and presence in mainland Europe. improved.
Me & All, launched by Lindner in 2016 with six hotels open and four more under contract, will become an independent lifestyle brand. Hyatt expects the brand to be particularly well-suited for hotel conversions and enable faster onboarding of newly signed properties.

The Park Hyatt brand will lead store openings over the next two years, with openings in Los Cabos, Kuala Lumpur, Johannesburg, Pho Quoc and Taipei in 2025. The company plans to open stores in Cancun and Mexico City next year.
More hotels will be coming to Andaz as well. New locations include Doha, Miami Beach, Lisbon, Bangkok, Gold Coast and Turks and Caicos Islands. The Thompson and Unbound Collection brands have three openings planned, including Thompson Miami Beach, Thompson Shanghai and Thompson Monterrey.
