After more than 50 days, Donald Trump’s second administration and his Pentagon have already rapidly transformed into the image of his secretary Pete Hegses.
Now, many of the rumours and opinions that have been common during Hegseth’s Fox News career have come to policy practices with his new Pentagon.
Hegseth was launched by oldizing NATO allies and ensuring that the US would never accept Ukraine as an alliance. His pentagon then quickly made a leadership change targeting women and people of color. He oversaw the complete removal of all diversity, equity and comprehensive programs, while reducing the entire military that oversees civilian harm reduction in combat theatres.
Combining all of that with the pastor, who said he had brought Christian nationalism and the “love between slavery,” led to a call from a former Department of Defense official that the new secretary was actively causing damage to his institution.
“What are you seeing in the Pentagon now? What are you hear about the future of war? What are we hear about the transformation we need now when we emerge from the battles of the past 20 years?” retired brigadier general Paul Eaton said he is a veteran of the Iraq War. “We’re listening to Dei Purging.”
Eton continued. Four stars of the woman, the first chief of the naval operation, have been removed. A four-star woman taken from the coast guard. ”
In the national army, unity and fighting faith against the chain of orders are paramount. But Eaton says that Hegseth is “Fox News’ Saturday Showman” and is not worthy of the office he occupys, weakening his troops every turn.
Eaton explained that massive shootings and transgender bans were distracted by learning lessons from the war in Ukraine and the global conflict that many people in the Pentagon have predicted for years. Above all, Hegzes, whose focus is on culture wars, is actively ignoring the “fighter jets” he constantly calls.
“What we’re seeing is gnawing at the edge of a culture with a dominant theme, doing nothing to prepare the US military to meet the next peer or peer opponent,” Eaton said.
Secretary Hegses risks alienating and undermining women currently serving
Caroline Zier, former deputy chief of staff Lloyd Austin
At a time when the Pentagon struggles to meet its recruitment numbers, his historical attitude towards the firing of top female officers at Hegzes and his historical attitude towards gender has not made enlistment the most attractive among women.
“Comments that question the qualifications and achievements of women in uniforms greatly downplay the sacrifices these service members and their families have made for our country,” said Caroline Zier, former deputy chief of staff to former Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III and senior policy advisor to the vote. “Secretaries risk alienating and undermining women they currently serve, reducing the likelihood that other women will try to join the army at the moment when they need all qualified recruits.”
Hegseth’s office was attended by social science and DEI research in a memo released in early March. Cost reduction measures save 30 managers year on funding for internal research “on global transition patterns, impacts of climate change and social trends.”
In a post on X, Hegseth said: I train and fight. “These comments are consistent with his complaints that under the Biden administration, the military somehow undermined the standards of soldiers and focused efforts on war in favour of adopting liberal subculture.
“The truth is that the US military is the deadliest combat forces in world history, and the Department of Defense keeps an eye on combat and meritocracy,” Zier said. “I saw him work at the Department of Defense for 15 years and across the administration.”
The harsh stories of “combat” and “lethal” follow an obsession with special forces units within the Trump administration. This is a type that carries out a drone strike or a mission that killed Osama bin Laden in 2011.
However, special operations missions tend to create enemies all over the world, especially when unwanted collateral damage occurs, especially when it leads to civilian massacres. That’s why the past Obama, Trump and the Biden administrations have adopted a new and evolving watchdog policy that governs how secret actions are carried out. By 2023, Austin had enacted a new order surrounding civilian harm reduction.
However, Hegses has closed the Pentagon’s private harm mitigation and response office and the outstanding private conservation center. Coupled with plans to overhaul a legion of judge-protected generals, they reworked the rules of war governing the US military, with all indications pointing to the Department of Defense, which is prone to tragic mistakes.

Eton considers it to be shortsighted and ignores lessons learned.
“When I was in Iraq in 2004, I deployed developments for the Iraqi military,” Eton said. “I stand up before Iraqi soldiers and assert the best elements of the US military, our judicial system and the good order and discipline of the military.”
What we see is gnawing at the edge of a culture with a dominant theme, doing nothing to prepare the US military.
Paul Eaton, retired brigadier general
But then Eaton added that something happened that undermined the word “Abu Ghraibe.”
Hegzes was not only a veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but also the voice of the leading veterans who opposed the Biden administration’s handling of withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021. Mission against Russia – It has undermined confidence in military interoperability and shared intelligence.
Ukraine is at risk of a new Afghan government cut with US military support, but is fighting for the survival of its citizens against the top Russian military.
In early March, the Pentagon froze critical intelligence and weapons packages as Trump reposted US positions on the conflict. Such uncertainty owes real fears based on Europe’s most deadly war since World War II.
“I think Ukrainians and we all work here regardless of nationality, but I think we’re worried about what the future of US support looks like,” said a former US Marine who currently lives in Ukraine and works on defense technology near the frontline. “We all hope that the US will do the right thing and provide the Ukrainians with the tools they need to end this war and secure their future.”
So far, however, Hegseth has instead shown that he has turned the Pentagon’s gaze towards the Mexican border. Ukraine, NATO, and many pentagonal cuts are found in the rear seats.
The Pentagon did not respond to several emails containing a detailed list of questions about Hegses’ personal impact on policymaking for the sector he leads.
