Earlier this month, House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul was detained at Dulles Airport in an intoxicated manner after the lawmaker said he had taken the sleeping pill Ambien and alcohol.
During the incident, first reported by Semaphore and confirmed to CNN by a spokesperson for the congressman, McCall was disoriented due to drugs and alcohol he had taken before boarding a flight back to Texas. The Republican lawmaker was locked out of his cell phone after missing his flight, then was found by police and detained because they thought he was intoxicated.
“Two weeks ago, I made a mistake, and I take responsibility for it. I missed my flight to Texas and found myself confused at the airport. “This was the result of a poor decision I made to mix the Ambien I drank with alcohol. Law enforcement officers briefly detained me while I waited to be picked up by my family,” McCall said in a statement. Ta.
Ms McCall thanked the police officer who found her and said she was “determined to learn from this mistake”.
“I have nothing but respect and gratitude to the officers who apprehended me that night. This incident does not reflect who I am or who I strive to be. As a human being. , I’m not perfect. But I’m determined to learn from this mistake and, God willing, make myself a better person,” he said.
