The uniquely successful and award-winning 11th generation Civic is the gateway to the Honda brand and America’s most popular vehicle for Gen Z, first-time buyers, and multicultural customers1. The Honda Civic has been America’s best-selling compact car since 19732. A key driver of brand loyalty for the Honda brand, the award-winning 11th generation Accord is America’s most popular midsize car with millennials, Gen Z, first-time buyers, and multicultural customers.3
Both hybrid-electric models, the new Civic Hybrid and Accord Hybrid, play a key role in Honda’s electrification strategy. Hybrid-electric trims, powered by the fourth generation of Honda’s award-winning two-motor hybrid-electric powertrain, now account for more than 50% of Accord sales, and the new 2025 Civic Hybrid model will eventually replace the Civic’s approx. Sales are expected to account for 40%. This year, more than 25% of the Honda brand’s total sales are hybrid electric vehicles.

To determine the winners, U.S. News Best Cars averaged the overall scores of all products for a particular brand in each award class. Vehicle scores are derived from the US News Best Cars rankings, which consider a variety of data points such as safety ratings and reliability data, as well as the consensus opinion of the automotive press. The brand with the highest average score was named the winner for that particular category.
