WORCESTER, Mass. — The Holy Cross football team begins its second season Saturday at Colgate.
This is their first Patriot League game of the season, and winning the league title will earn them a ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
Facing the Raiders, Holy Cross knows they will have to stop a heavy attack.
LB Matthew Kane said: “Defensively, the first thing is obviously to stop conceding goals.” “They have a two-QB package where they do a lot of QB run work, like we saw a lot here last year with Matt Sulka. You’re doing your job and getting every 11th out of everyone. Do the best you can and then do a little more.”
“The key to beating Colgate on defense is that it starts with stopping the run,” DL Damon Donald said. “They have a good running QB and they bring in another QB to get the offense going, but we have to make sure that we get their offensive line behind the line of scrimmage and stop that run. That’s the most important thing.” We won the game. ”
Holy Cross will be at Colgate on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m.
