Plaza Hotel’s Pioneer Park is ranked among the top hotels in El Paso by US News & World Report.
Plaza representatives were excited to share the news on social media.

US News has analyzed over 30,000 hotels to find the best hotels in the US, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean based on travel experts, guest reviews and hotel class ratings.
The magazine pointed out the following about the ranking Plaza:
“In addition to the restaurant, this smoke-free hotel has a health club and a bar/lounge. WiFi in public areas is free. Other amenities include a 24-hour business centre, coffee shops/cafés and valley parking.”
Plaza general manager Adrian Gonzalez said the accolade was the latest recognition of a great year.
“We had an incredible year from becoming the number one hotel in El Paso on TripAdvisor to being awarded the Michelin Key. We nominated the number one hotel in the Medalia independent collection HHM portfolio. Property, we are truly honored at the Plaza Hotel,” he said in an email.
“Our loyal customers are proud of our performance and are happier than ever to continue to support the Plaza Hotel in both personal and professional events, so these awards are unaware.
History of Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park
Businessman Conrad Hilton built the El Paso Hilton and helped launch what became one of the great hotel chains in the country after he was almost bankrupt.
The 19-storey hotel, which was El Paso’s tallest building in 1930, became a symbol of El Paso ongoing, as Hilton wrote in his autobiography, “The Miracle of Hope, a Flag Flying with Confidence in the Face of Adversity,” according to an article in the El Paso Times in 2020.
The story stated that the hotel opened on November 6th, 1930 attracted around 15,000 people. Hilton called the number “a slight exaggeration.” But he came from all over Texas and New Mexico to not only see new hotels, but also to feel at ease when “almost everyone was talking about their destiny.”
Revitalization of Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park
Plaza Hotel opened in June 2020. The 130-room luxury boutique hotel on 106W. Mills Avenue and Oregon Street has been renovated by El Paso billionaire Paul Foster.
According to an article in the 2019 El Paso Times, the hotel has undergone a $78 million renovation. The renovation included 541 adjacent car parks that were built.
Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park’s unique products, special deals
Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park offers history and art tours from Monday to Friday at 4pm. Other unique features: Agave flights change each month, with agave tastings at 5pm on Thursdays and agave tasting room dinner quarterly.
Upcoming: Plaza Hotel will invite guests to book a Casa Madero Wine Dinner on February 27th at 7pm. The cost is $175 per person. Dinner reservations can be made at eventbrite.com.
