MIAMI (AP) – Authorities have been arrested for theft of three luxury cars from the home where Miami quarterback Carson Beck and basketball player Hanna Cabinder were staying.
Tykwon Anderson, 20, was arrested Thursday afternoon. According to arrest reports, he is one of four men accused of stealing a vehicle, including a Lamborghini.
Deputies from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office responded to the couple’s home early Thursday morning. Beck and Cabinder told investigators they stole a silver Mercedes-Benz AMG, a red Lamborghini Urus and a white Range Rover while someone was asleep.
Police recovered the Mercedes-Benz and Range Rover within hours, but they were still searching for the Lamborghini.
Just before 3am on Thursday, Anderson and three other masked men arrived at Beck’s home, police said. One of the men broke into a vehicle parked in the driveway, used the garage door opener to enter the house, stealing keys to all three cars.
The thief is driving to Beck’s home using a rental car registered with Anderson, authorities said. Investigators said they would use tracking data from the car rental to find Anderson and place him at the scene of the theft.
Anderson has been charged with grand larceny, vehicle theft and robbery. He was in custody at Miami-Dade Prison but was not released on bail immediately. Online court records did not list Anderson’s attorneys.
