
“World News With David Muir” was ranked as the No. 1 evening newscast on all broadcasts and cables for the week of March 3, 2025, total viewers (7.891 million), adults 25-54 (1.064 million), and adults 18-49 (786,000).
“World News Tonight” increased the total margin of viewers across NBC Nightly News (6.393 million, 952,000, 637,000, 637,000, total viewers, 112,000 adults with 25-54 adults, 18-49 years ago. “World News Tonight” increased the total margin of viewers across NBC Nightly News” year by year (+6% – 1.498 million vs 1.411 million). “World News Tonight” increased the total margin of viewers last year (+1%/+104,000-7.891 million vs 7.787 million) and adults 18-49 (+4%/+31,000 – The same week was improved with 786,000 vs 755,000). “World News Tonight” has increased year by year across viewers for six consecutive weeks. This week, “World News Tonight” (7.891 million, 1.064 million, 786,000, and 786,000, respectively) beat “CBS Evening News” (4.378 million, 623,000, 413,000, 413,000, total viewers, 441,000 adults, and 373,000 adults, 18-49 adults.” Previous seasons, “World News Tonight” (7.953 million) ranked number one in total viewers for the ninth consecutive year, based on most current data. “World News Tonight” leads NBC Nightly News (6.366 million) with 1.587 million and CBS Evening News (4.631 million) with 3,322 million. In fact, “World News Tonight” has expanded its total audience lead beyond NBC since the 1994-1995 season compared to the same points (+33% to 1.587 million vs. 1.190 million) as last season (+33% to 1.587 million vs. 1.190 million). “World News Tonight” ranks number one among adults, 25-54 and 18-49 in the sixth season. The ABC Newscast is the only night newscast to improve at the same points last season with adults 25-54 (1.133 million vs 1.13 billion) and 18-49 (+1% – 786,000 vs 777,000). Additionally, “World News Tonight” (1.36 million and 785,000 respectively) have led NBC (948,000 and 634,000 respectively) and has increased margins from the same points since last season with triple digits for adults 25-54 (+126% to 185,000 vs 82,000) and adults 18-49 (+117% – 152,000 vs 70,000) from the same points. Additionally, World News Tonight leads CBS Evening News (674,000 and 450,000 respectively), with 459,000 adults 25-54 adults and 18-49 adults 336,000 adults.
Note: All three programs were cut on Tuesday (3/4/25). On Friday (7/25/3), “CBS Evening News” was quoted in “CBS Evening NWS.” Filmed television broadcasts are excluded from weekly and seasonal averages. The weekly average for ABC and NBC is based on four days (Monday, Wednesday to Friday), while the weekly average for CBS is based on three days (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday).
